Teatro di Villa Aldrovandi – Mazzacorati
The Theater of Villa Adrovandi – Mazzacorati is considered the region’s most valuable and well-preserved private theater within an 18th-century villa, and there is no doubt that it has the best acoustics.
An expression of the cultural vivacity that flourished during the century of enlightenment, this theater was built upon the request of Giovan Francesco Aldrovandi, an amateur actor, playwright, and theater enthusiast.
The inauguration took place on 24 September 1763 with Voltaire’s 1736 tragedy, the Alzira, and translated by Vincenzo Fontanelli.
